Florida Women's Cycling Network

I feel strongly about this program and plan to add a section about the development of young female cyclists into the BuildingChampionCyclistsFL.net program. Currently, no elite females have been identified or applied to BCCyclists. That aside. Visit Florida Women's Cycling Network

Cycling Nutrition

Drew Edsall has provided an additional article on the importance of carbohydrates while riding. To expand on this, for any of you planning on consecutive days of racing or back to back hard training days avoiding glycogen depletion by properly feeding your muscles is very important. A time trial or short track race the day before the XC race may not require the intake of simple or complex sugars to complete, however, not fueling the body during the effort will require your body to dip into the stored glycogen in your muscles. This glycogen can take 36 to 48 hours to replace. Thus, read the article and conduct any additional research that is required.

Training Articles

Matt Goforth is currently assisting Regan Woodall and has provided him with an annual training plan and forwarded him a heart rate monitor to assist in his training. Mike Hall, a local cycling enthusiast also provided Regan with a complete Heart Rate monitor system, which allows Regan to have two bikes set up - for a complete picture of his training. Matt is working on a package program to provide cycling accessories that does not interfere or duplicate what their local bike shops are doing for them. More on this later...

Matt recently wrote an article which will be expanded on in relation to how each athlete has a different personality and that an individual athlete has to determine what method best fits their profile.
